My name is Zlatka Angelova, and I was born and grew up in Bulgaria. I am an artist who creates in various ways and uses different mediums and styles. A major part of my inspiration comes from my love for the aquatic world and the sea, which I developed growing up in a small town near The Black Sea called Tsarevo. In general, I see my inspiration being fueled by the opportunity to create with the freedom of my imagination. Being in love with art plays a role as I have multiple artistic passions. Painting with oil paints on canvases and visualizing my inner fantasy world is one of them. Besides oil painting, I feel pure joy in painting with watercolors and drawing sketches with graphite pencils, variable art, and portraits.
My process with oil paints starts with choosing colors that resonate with my feelings in the moment. After that, I paint loosely with brushes and/or spatula. I don't follow a direction or a plan for my painting process. I just let the shapes guide me. After I start seeing more specific objects appearing on the canvas, I build everything around them. Further in the process, I add more and more details. In my world, seashells usually represent "The Self". All nature is deeply connected and merged into an aquatic world, and the trees represent creatures. Every painting carries a message that I shape after it's completed. Besides painting, I also love animation, character design, and storytelling.
